HOTEL ONLY COMPARISON #1:

We did a search on 2/3/05 on the web sites above, for a room at Harrahs for 2 nights starting 2/9/05. Here are the results in order of price.

Hotwire.com	N/A	Does not allow you to book specific hotels. You find out after purchase, which hotel you got.
Site59.com	N/A	Does not offer "hotel only" bookings.
Cheaptickets.com	$161	Guarantee - In the event of cancellation, a non-refundable fee of $25.00 (USD) will be applied. This is in addition to any penalties which may applied by the hotel due to their cancellation policy. Cancellation - Cancellations within 72 hours of arrival forfeit cost of 1 night(s) of stay. Cancellations or changes made after check-in are subject to a 100 percent penalty. No refunds will be made for no-shows or early checkouts.
Orbitz.com	$147 (124+23)	Cancellations or changes more than 3 days prior to 12:01 am Central Time on the day of arrival are subject to a $25 penalty. Cancellations or changes within 3 days prior to 12:01 am Central Time on the day of arrival are subject to a penalty equal to room and tax for the first night. Cancellations or changes after 12:01 am Central Time on the day of arrival are subject to a 100% penalty.
Travelworm.com	$145 (127+18)	Any cancellations or changes made more than 72 hours prior to arrival are subject to a $25 handling fee per room. Cancellations or changes made within 72 hours of arrival are subject to a $25 handling fee plus the first night's room rate.
Harrahs.com (thru Hot Deals link)	$140 (128+12)	If you cancel your reservation 72 hours or more in advance of your arrival date, you will receive a refund of your deposit. If you cancel within 72 hours, you will be charged the 1st night's room and tax.
Travelocity	$138 (124+14)	All cancellations or changes will incur a $25.00 fee. Cancellations or changes occurring within 72 hours of 12:01 am (Central Time) on the day of check-in are subject to a 1 night Room + Tax charge in addition to the $25.00 fee Cancellations or changes made after check-in are subject to a 100% charge.
EasyClickTravel	$135 (118+17)	Less complicated web site. Requires membership to get final price. Requires credit card before cancellation policy (but you can cancel after that). Cancellations more than 72 hours before 3pm on arrival date have no penalty. After that it is full penalty (entire amount of the booking!)

CONCLUSION: EasyClickTravel is the winner on this one. Make sure you cancel by 3pm on the 3rd day before arrival to avoid 100% penalty. If you might cancel too late, then Harrahs is the one for you.
